Abstract: This presentation will outline key initiatives developed by the Teaching and Learning Support Service’s Centre for e-Learning, Centre for University Teaching and Centre for Mediated Teaching and Learning, in the support of online teaching and learning in the Faculty of Health Science at the University of Ottawa. The presentation will outline some of issues and challenges we face: varying levels of online teaching and learning expertise among faculty and students; challenges that bilingualism presents to development of resources, and the fact that the Faculty of Health Science is situated away from the main campus, which means they do not have same access to resources and infrastructure re: online resource and course development. The presentation will: address some of the strategies we have developed to help overcome such challenges through the development of various targeted services and resources; present collaborative health science projects we are involved with, and showcase some of the online resources and award winning courses that we have developed.
