Share Paper: Faculty as Students: Immersing Faculty in a Hybrid Course

Abstract: As part of a 3-year faculty development project, 50 faculty have participated in a Hybrid Seminar, an 8-week hybrid course in course redesign. Throughout the Seminar, faculty are introduced to principles of effective course design, the challenges and benefits of hybrid courses, and the pedagogical best practices informing the conversion of traditional courses into hybrid courses. They also experience a hybrid course first-hand ¬ as students — giving them crucial insight into their students' learning experience.
