Abstract: Teachers know that their students increase their academic skills through instruction and practice over time. All teachers are teachers of reading and writing. Therefore, all teachers need to demonstrate their personal reading and writing habits to have maximum impact on positively influencing their students to read and write both in and outside of school. The South Central Kansas Writing Project launched a blog during this summer's writing institute with 13 teachers to provide an online publishing forum for their writing efforts.
