Abstract: Teachers know that their students increase their academic skills through instruction and practice over time. All teachers are teachers of reading and writing. Therefore, all teachers need to demonstrate their personal reading and writing habits to have maximum impact on positively influencing their students to read and write both in and outside of school. The South Central Kansas Writing Project launched a blog during this summer's writing institute with 13 teachers to provide an online publishing forum for their writing efforts. Results indicate no difference between teachers of different grade levels in their attitude toward writing. Teacher were enthusiastic about the training using blogs that was provided and eleven of the thirteen posted more writing pieces to their blog than required. All are enrolled in an advanced writing seminar this fall and the use of the blog will be an integral part of the expectations.
