Abstract: Distance education has become a solid part of educating people within secondary and post secondary education. There are a variety of systems available on the market including Macromedia Breeze. The current version of Macromedia’s Breeze platform is less than accessible for all users. However, using usability design techniques and accessibility best practices for curriculum development within Breeze can significantly increase the accessibility of content delivered through this platform. By implementing an accessibility & usability checklist for Breeze content creation the curriculum can reach a wider audience. Although it is not currently possible to create fully accessible content within the Breeze platform it is vital that content creation personnel follow these guidelines such that when an accessible version of Breeze is released they are ready to embrace the technology and empower all learners.
