Abstract: Traditional inter-media synchronization in e-learning was achieved using external text file descriptors, which are separate to the media stream(s). In recognizing the fact that real-time video streaming in e-learning contains large volume and high redundancies, we therefore, have proposed a novel scheme for a protocol-less, single data-stream streaming methodology and its associated authoring language, W-MIML. In this paper, we have also added support for multimedia database synchronization. We discuss our proposed methods in detail and illustrate the advantages of this scheme over the traditional separate channel approach and claim many of its benefits in e-learning. We also present the result ...
