Share Paper: “From the Ground, Up!”: Building an e-Learning Culture in a not-for-profit Information Technology Start-Up

Abstract: Prior to engaging a full-time Education resource, this pioneering start-up IT service provider (Government/Healthcare) managed in-house and customer education in an ad-hoc, reactive fashion where e-learning didn’t exist, and “training” was treated as an event, not a process. As the organization quickly transformed from a consultant base to a growing employee base, and the myriad operational procedures and best practices gained maturity, the need for an effective, ongoing education/e-learning strategy had to be addressed.
