Abstract: Portfolio has been used as an alternative assessment tool. At NYIT, the teacher education program has launched a longitudinal electronic portfolio research project to exam the potential impact of designing electronic portfolio on pre-service teachers’ motivation to integrate technology in the learning environment as well as their technology literacy. This presentation will discuss the result of first year implementation, including data collection and analysis, difficulties we encountered, plan to improve the implementation, suggestions, and analysis of students’ e-portfolio. The initial findings pointed out that once students are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to design the e-portfolio, they are more willing to use computer technology in the future classroom, and have more ideas to integrate technology into the curriculum.
