Abstract: This paper reports on a study conducted on a design-based research framework for designing and assessing a Web-based learning system in information technology education at the introductory level. The author argues that design-based research, which blends empirical education research with the theory-driven design of learning environments, is an important methodology for understanding how Web-enhanced learning innovations in information technology education work, evolve, and improve.
