Abstract: This presentation explores various teaching strategies used to promote project-based learning and hands-on activities in an online learning environment. While online learning has grown substantially in recent years, the pandemic forced many educators to move their face-to-face teaching to primarily online contexts. This raised important questions about how well online learning can manage hands-on activities or project-based learning compared to traditional face-to-face learning environments. Accordingly, the presenters of this paper, who are faculty members in a department of learning design and technology, would like to share the online teaching strategies they have developed and implemented involving a flipped classroom model.
