Role of Social Networking Sites to Encourage English Oral Skills among Students: Before and After Covid-19

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to assess the role played by social networking sites in advancing the speaking skills among English students, before and after lockdown in Pakistan. Quantitative method was used to conduct the study. The sample used in the study comprised of 300 students of University of Gujrat from the Department of English Language and Literature. 110 of the sample were males and 190 were females. The result showed an overall positive response rate. Findings of the study revealed that social networking sites helped the students in improving their speaking skills including fluency, grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary.
