Abstract: Following the commercial release of Virtual Reality (VR), this technology has increasingly become more common place in practice and research. Thus, it is important for practitioners, manufacturers, and the general public to recognize and be mindful of the potential negative consequences some individuals may experience when using VR headsets. This paper will summarize the literature concerning four side effects associated with virtual reality headsets that utilize near-to-eye displays.
