  1. Destiny Benjamin, University of North Texas, United States

Abstract: Abstract: Proponents of Massive Online Open Courses (MOOCs) frequently claim the courses increase learning opportunities for diverse groups. Some learners, such as those with disabilities, experience barriers that prevent them from fully engaging in the courses and securing the benefits. This review explores the literature on the accessibility of MOOCs and the obstacles that individuals with disabilities encounter when accessing the platforms and courses. Federal legislation addressing disability discrimination and current attempts at developing frameworks for building accessible MOOCs are reviewed.
