Abstract: Traditional in-person Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) programs were challenged to transition face-to-face courses online during the Spring 2020 semester with minimal adaptation. This case study highlights the experience of one research-intensive, public school of pharmacy and its efforts to combat ‘Zoom-fatigue’ and implement a student-centered approach to academic program adaptation for the 2020-2021 academic year. The use of limited regularly scheduled synchronous class meetings helped students and faculty plan around scheduled sessions and reduced the amount of required screen time per day. This approach required significant coordination between course faculty and the school administration to facilitate this scheduling approach to support student wellness. This approach is well received by students and faculty and serves as a potential model for pharmacy and cohort-based educational programs in an online environment.
