Worked Examples: An Overview
Abstract: While example problems have often been included in, particularly, mathematics instruction, their role has traditionally been limited. But in recent decades, there has been a growing interest in the possible instructional benefits of extensive use of example problems. This paper explores recent research on these problems, which are usually called worked examples. Worked examples, which illustrate each step of the problem-solving process, have been shown to improve both learning outcomes as well as learning efficiency.
