Clinical Faculty and University Supervisors Working Together to Support Future Teachers: Challenges and Solutions in the COVID-19 Pandemic
Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic has inadvertently exposed the strengths and weaknesses of university Education Preparation Programs (EPP) that provide essential training to future P-12 teachers and continuous learning to current teachers. The physical lockdown has inhibited critical components of the programs that involve face-to-face field experiences, resulting to challenges and issues that were not experienced in recent decades. Solutions in terms of an expanded use of Blackboard Collaborate, Zoom, and Video Annotated Technology are presented in this paper. General recommendations to improve EPPs based on the lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown are also highlighted.
