Abstract: Research in the field of education focused on technology have been shown to show a ‘no-significant difference result’. Research studies should rather focus on improving educational practice. In this paper, I report on a study I conducted with a special focus on the methodology used to address a learning design problem. I utilised Design-based research to enable me to address the pragmatic nature of the research question. Design-based research as an approach lends itself well to a mixed-method methodology. I executed a partially Mixed Sequential Dominant Status Design. The value of using a mixed-method methodology to improve the learning design ...
