Abstract: The growth of online learning environments has challenged instructors to continue to meet the needs of a diverse student population. Students in these environments struggle with feeling isolated. Videos are one way to bridge that gap and open communication between students and instructors. The videos included may have a variety of purposes and contain a variety of content. Student survey data, emails, and IDEA survey data were used as reflective tools to determine the student’s perception of the instructor implemented videos. Based on student and instructor perceptions, the implementation of videos created connection and improved satisfaction in the course.
