Abstract: STEAM into Literacy is a project dedicated to bringing STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) into early childhood and elementary classrooms while using children’s literature as an entry point to introduce complex STEM concepts. This brief paper presents an overview of the results from a study that found that teachers spend a high number of instructional minutes and have high teacher efficacy for teaching Language Arts compared to a low number of minutes and low efficacy for teaching engineering design.
