Abstract: In this roundtable session, we want to discuss the application of extended reality (XR) in industrial training. The aim of the roundtable is twofold: first we want to present intermediate results of our systematic review on the use of XR for training in industry and secondly we want to gain insight into the implications the use of XR in vocational education and training (VET) in industry has on instructional design. The participants of this roundtable will gain an overview of the use of XR in VET for industry, they will think about the challenges of instructional design with XR in an industrial context and be encouraged to determine the solutions from their perspective. They will gain more insight into the situation of SMEs concerning training using innovative learning technologies.
