Abstract: This systematic literature review covered peer-reviewed research articles and book chapters published in English between 2014 and 2019. The aim of the review was to create a narrative synthesis of the research on self-efficacy in the context of learning in immersive virtual environments. The research question addressed was: How is self-efficacy examined in immersive virtual learning environments? The process revealed the scarcity of research on the topic. Based on the results, the study of self-efficacy in this context could benefit from a more heterogenous participant base and the researchers’ keen attention to the issues of methodology and measurement.
