Abstract: The quality of education in the contemporary society is being affected due to the use of ICTs. New possibilities, dilemmas and challenges arise for teachers through the incorporation of digital technologies in the modern society. In order to actively stimulate creativity and ownership within student, teachers take the role of change enablers and digital networkers. This new role for teachers highlights that teachers should achieve a certain degree of digital literacy in order to be qualified as teacher in this modern era.
