Abstract: This paper describes a study which seeks to explore teachers’ and students’ perspectives on the usability and effectiveness of a web-based project in order to improve it and increase its reliability. The study uses the analytical tasks of the “What Went Wrong” WebQuest as a means to enhance students’ understanding of the religion of Islam and Islamic civilization. For the study, student participants actively participated and collaborated in conducting this project by reflecting on their understanding of Islam and the factors that led to the rise and decline of the Islamic civilization.
