Abstract: With social networking technologies are getting very popular today, the widely used communication technologies have impacted and changed the teaching and learning in the traditional classroom setting. One of the prominent features of these social networking tools is the asynchronous online discussion capability for encouraging students’ interaction, communication, collaboration, and productivity in learning activities. Along with the rise of social networking technologies, another skill has surfaced as an essential part of learning for current students, social-emotional learning (SEL). Effective SEL can foster academic engagement, enhance social and emotional competencies, reduce risk behaviors, and facilitate supportive relationships within high school communities. ...
