Abstract: This paper presents preliminary findings of an explorative study that investigates the use of mobile strategies used by undergraduate students. Participants at a midsize undergraduate university in western Canada were asked to self-report on the applications (apps) they used to complete four researcher generated mobile tasks. These apps were then mapped onto Park’s (2011), four levels of mobility hierarchy with the addition of a no technology level. Initial findings indicate that that undergraduate students choose different unique strategies to complete different mobile tasks.
