Abstract: Traditional teaching is still the teaching approach most used by teachers. Basic learning is done in class with the teacher and the application / analysis steps are usually made by the student, outside the class time through exercises. However, students remain rather passive in such a learning mode. However, there are strategies and activities (activities by project, by problems, simulations, debates) to make the student actor of his learning. Active learning involves the integration of feedback activities, formative evaluation, regulation and self-assessment. An interactive quiz was then developed and integrated into the heat transfer course offered at Polytechnique Montreal. Its goal is to build experiential learning. Conceptual questions verify the acquisition and understanding of knowledge, and analytical questions are used to validate the methodological aspects of problem solving. The quiz developed aims to solicit, at the student, a maximum of cognitive levels. This quiz is a constructive and informative learning tool. It helps the student in his learning through diagnostic feedback and informs the teacher about the learning level of his group. The survey showed the impact of the interactive quiz on student motivation and success. The results show that this educational activity is a valuable aid to the preparation of summative exams. It invests students in a deep understanding of the subject.
