Abstract: We used a Design Research approach to build a prototype of the Electronic Data Management and Expert Decision Making (EDM2) software system. Through the EDM2 platform, educators monitor student progress across multiple early learning domains and deploy custom rules to automatically assign new assessments or interventions to individual students. Additionally, EDM2 recommends professional development modules to teachers as they relate to Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). We are currently evaluating the system’s feasibility in 12 different preschool classrooms in Tampa, Florida.
