Share Paper: Evaluating e-learning system for English conversation practice with speech recognition and future development using AI

Abstract: Many Japanese students of English have negative feelings about speaking practice because they feel embarrassed in speaking in English and are not confident. One of the solutions for this problem seems to be using e-learning materials for practicing speaking. The results of experimental research using SpeakBuddy, a smartphone app for helping Japanese students to practice English speaking skill with voice recognition, will be discussed in this paper.
