A Study on Direction and Development Plan of K-MOOC
Abstract: The Korean Ministry of Education conducted the K-MOOC (Korean Massive Open Online Course) operation project in October 2015. As of December 31, 2017, about 4.74 million visits were made to the homepage, about 450,000 enrollment applications, and 230,000 members, and interest of individual learners is steadily increasing. In addition, as the number of courses used for credit recognition increases, the completion rate of lectures is also steadily increasing. However, the level and diversity of lectures are lacking compared to overseas MOOC, and the number of schools using K-MOOC courses is increasing, but there is a limitation that these applications are staying in the campus. Based on the results of K-MOOC's operational performance, K-MOOC's future direction of development should be based on the foundation of lifelong learning and the opening of courses to meet the changes of the times. In particular, it is necessary to prepare diverse and practical methods to utilize K-MOOC in the aspect of lifelong vocational education for adult reeducation and job competency enhancement of incumbent workers.
