This paper reports on preliminary results from the initial stage of a European development project exploring pedagogical design for transition from kindergarten to school, using ICT enhanced learning environments to support creative learning. The focus in this phase is on digital animation as a medium for storytelling in hybrid environments and on exploring how animation and games can serve as a creative pathway to learning in primary education The transition from Kindergarten to School is often the first of many transitions that each individual will experience during a lifetime, but the way this initial experience unfolds can be crucial for the way the learner will approach subsequent transitions during school and later on in life. It is also during this initial phase of schooling that the ground is prepared for success in school and whether one will succeed in completing an education and having a fulfilling profession.
