Abstract: The poster depicts a case study how Moodle (Moodlerooms) can be used to create a community of practice (or Community of students, CoS) apart from using it for the obvious course based LMS. Target group was EQF level 6 cultural management students in the blended learning group in Finland. The key findings were that it is very much possible to use even crude tools to create a functioning CoS. There were three key elements we found be most important. They all revolve around the same theme but offer a different angle: Democratization of learning, Inclusion and encouragement and Fostering of sense of community.
