Abstract: Learning through Cultural Connections: The Northern Lights is an Alaska Native Education Program funded through the U.S. Department of Education. The project increases student interest in and improves student attitudes towards science by addressing the topic of the Northern Lights through the cultural lens of the Iñupiat. The Corporate Demonstration will showcase products developed for three rural Alaska school districts that serve a primarily Iñupiat audience. Products to be demonstrated include a 25-minute video, online multimedia, and learning kits for students in grades 3-8 that feature Iñupiaq language lexicon for key science terms.
