Abstract: The purpose of this session is to showcase a free online curriculum-based measurement (CBM) tool. CBM is a widely used classroom assessment process for continually monitoring students’ progress. The tool, named WordMark, provides teachers with a highly efficient and effective means to gather, display and use data to inform instructional decision making. The tool includes a 3-minute assessment for students to create an authentic writing sample, a computerized scoring interface to make grading more efficient for teachers, and visualizations of the results to help teachers and students interpret performance data.
