Roundtable
ID: 50664
Abstract: The authors conducted a pilot study to investigate the impact of embedded questions in order to focus student attention and improve engagement when viewing online pre-recorded PowerPoint presentations. The study was conducted in a hybrid undergraduate, introductory, educational psychology course using survey results and student scores on the embedded questions. The relationship between scores on the embedded questions and online quiz scores and major exam scores will be discussed. The authors will share an overview of the hybrid course and some of the online presentations. Participants will be encouraged to share their experiences trying to increase student engagement with online learning materials.
