Share Paper: Prospective Teachers’ Use of Technology in Mathematics Instruction

Abstract: This study examined the prospective K-8 teachers’ use of web-based materials in their mathematics teaching. As a part of their course project, twenty-eight prospective teachers prepared lesson plans and made teaching presentations. All the lesson plans were analyzed to identify the type of technology, instructional goal, grade level, and content area they chose for their instruction. The analysis of lesson plans indicated that prospective teachers mostly used online games (OGs) as secondary instructional activities to improve K-2 students’ mathematical skills.
