Abstract: This short paper will describe Phase 1 (online survey results) of an ongoing SSHRC/IDG-funded research program (2015-2017) that is investigating how Canadian older adults use social media tools and Internet-based resources to establish, maintain, and extend their online personal learning networks (oPLNs). These results will inform how older adults use oPLNs to enrich their expertise and knowledge within a framework of informal, self-directed learning.
