Share Paper: A Model to Re-Design and Integrate Robust Library Resources and Library Services in Online Programs

Abstract: Last year, 5.8 million U.S. higher education students took courses online, which represented the 14th consecutive year of online student growth. To ensure success in their online courses, it has become essential for these students to have access to the same quality and variety of library resources and services afforded to traditional students in face-to-face environments. Librarians, as partners with teaching faculty, can re-engineer and innovate the delivery of traditional library resources and services to optimize the use and benefit to online students to overcome the limitations and challenges inherent in a virtual setting.
