Share Paper: Co-teaching an Online Graduate Course in Designing Digital Instruction

Abstract: This paper describes a co-teaching arrangement between a specialist in computer science and an instructor in library science at the University of Hawai‘i to design and implement a six-week summer course entitled, “Planning and Developing Digital Library Instruction.” The authors present the constructivist frame for the course and the benefits of team teaching in higher education. The design principles for this graduate online course are described along with the student learning outcomes and the major assignments. Results of the course and student reflections at the end of the course are also shared.
