Teaching Writing to Practicing Educators in an Online Environment: Best Practices
Abstract: Currently, no universally accepted definition or agreed upon set of rules or procedures for constructing an online learning community at the graduate level exists. This online, graduate-level writing course was designed to allow teachers an environment where they could engage with writing in meaningful ways within communities of practice. An examination of this course reveals several significant factors that facilitated community development in this online graduate course. Those factors will be shared with participants during our poster session.
