Share Paper: Reviewing Digital Games for Intergenerational Play

Abstract: This paper is a literature review on a series of digital games specifically designed for intergenerational play between young people and older adults. The intended impacts of these games are to promote communication and understanding and facilitate knowledge sharing and transfer between the two age groups. However, examining the evaluation process of each game indicate that the evaluations predominantly focused on usability testing. Participants’ perceptions of game efficacy, verbal communication, engagement during the gameplay, and laugher have been used as the indicators of good usability.
