Share Paper: Effective use of digital technologies in public high schools of Montevideo and outcomes

Abstract: The paper presents a study on the educational use of digital technologies of students in public secondary education of Montevideo (Uruguay). Information was gathered of a representative sample of third-year students of public high schools in day shift in 2014. It finds that nearly 80% of students use digital technologies often to do homework but some students use technologies more often and engage in more activities than others. Four profiles of users are classified from two dimensions: frequency of use and degree of differentiation of the use of digital technologies.
