Abstract: This paper highlights the importance of evaluation by reviewing a case study of a master level instructional design and technology (ID&T) program. An electronic questionnaire with closed and open-ended items was used to survey current students (n = 20) and alumni (n = 11) of the program. The results of this program evaluation suggest that instructional design students in this master level program are focused on learning theoretical content as well as the required design and development skills needed to be successful instructional design practitioners. Both current students and alumni feel that the program is effective and that it allows them to reach their career goals. Suggestions were provided for core courses, electives, internship, and professional portfolio requirements. Instructional design educators may use this article as a teaching tool for program evaluation courses or as an opportunity to reflect on the formal evaluation needs of their own program.
