Share Paper: New Information Environments and the Changing Epistemologies

Abstract: This research studies how students evaluate the relevant information from the multitude of truths available in internet and how they justify it in the group discussions. The analysis is based on the interviews of 52 student groups. The interviews were analyzed first using thematic analysis and after that the found themes were studied using theoretical framework which was based to the new rhetorics, discourse analysis the credibility analysis. The most common justifications strategies students used during the interviews were category entitlement, their own experience and the consensus of POV:s.
