Abstract: “To create effective 21st century learning, it is not just our tools that need to change—it is our thinking. We need to integrate technology in a manner that not only allows students to do ‘old’ things (such as writing or research) in new ways but, far more importantly, also enables our students to do new things, in new ways, and get a different, and better, education because of the technology.” (Prensky, 2012, p. 1) Learning Connections (LC) is funded by the Ontario Ministry of Education, and supported by research by the Institute for Research in Learning Technologies at York University. LC connects teachers in their classrooms, their schools and their districts to engage in a connected network for professional learning, sharing best practices and collaborations. This paper provides information about Learning Connections, the professional learning and the projects that teachers are engaged in across the province to improve teaching and learning for the 21st century.
