Abstract: Educational Institutions have adopted various technologies in current learning environment to create more interactive and collaborative learning environment. Studies have reported that learning outcomes improved when students participated in the learning process. Clickers are being used in the classrooms to increase student participation. Findings indicate that they have been successful in achieving interactive learning environment. Tablets are widely adopted in universities without well-defined objective. If clickers limited to answering multiple choice questions achieved interactive learning environment. Then tablets with its advanced attributes would disrupt current learning environment resulting in higher learning outcomes. Although online learning is disruptive innovation in higher education, it is not for everyone. Learning environment needs to improve for those students who still learn better when they attend lectures, interact with lecturer and peers.
