Abstract: Abstract: In this paper the author proposes a design of an assisted personal learning environment (PLE) for middle school students. The author synthesizes current research findings in PLE and self-regulated learning (SRL) from a new prospective to suggest an assisted PLE for middle school students to support and to practice self-regulated learning as well as to improve academic achievement. The model of assisted PLE is unique as it serves the middle school students with a practical application that fertilizes, simple yet effective, learning analytics to generate personal recommendations for learning activities based on each student’s profile.
