Abstract: The purpose of this Roundtable session is to share ways mobile learning devices (smartphones, tablets & iPods) are being used by 3rd-6th grade students across six museums in a large US city. Roundtable participants will have the opportunity to use mobile devices provided by the presenters (Android phones, Android tablets, iPads and iPods) to explore ways students are using these devices at a museum of art, a museum of photographic arts, a museum of man, a natural history museum, the city's history center and the city's zoo. All of these museums are located within easy walking distance of one another. As Roundtable participants use the provided mobile devices to examine ways students use the devices at each of these museums, we will engage in discussion about the goodness of fit between each device and its educational application and examine questions for guiding mobile device selection and use.
