Abstract: The purpose of this qualitative narrative study was to examine the use of technologies and the processes of change in the Papahana Kaiapuni, or the Hawaiian Language Immersion Program (HLIP) within the Hawaii public schools from the perspective of teachers in the program. The participants described the world through stories of their experiences in the schools and their attitudes toward technology uses. Analysis of the stories suggests a more complex and nuanced view of technology in Hawaiian education from that reported in earlier studies when viewed by the participants themselves.
