Abstract: This paper is a report on the findings of some differences in a discussion between Japanese and Malaysian. Through this research, influence of different culture on comment pattern in group discussion has been investigated. It is likely that Malaysian has more awareness of surrounding, better predictive skill and higher curiosity in most categories of comments than the Japanese. Also, the embedded comments that are informative to participants had been recognized. Further study is required to see the impact on users of proposed propositions described earlier.
