Designing a Continuous Quality Improvement Framework for Online Learning Environments
Virtual Brief Paper
ID: 36890
Abstract: As institutions online programs expand, it becomes critical that they assess quality in various components of the enterprise. The Sloan Consortium proposed the Five Pillars of Quality Online Education as a framework for quality. Lone Star College had adopted this model to create a “Quality by Design” framework. Similar to the Sloan Model, the Lone Star model creates quality standards and metrics in the areas of Access, Effectiveness, Faculty Satisfaction, Scale, and Student Satisfaction. This paper briefly introduces this concept and provides an example of the structure of one of the components for quality assurance purposes.
